Kaliningrad is developing ties with Bahrain

On 20 June 2025, a productive meeting took place between Kaliningrad region representatives and the Ambassador of Bahrain.

We see Bahrain as a key gateway for the Kaliningrad region to the Middle East, helping showcase our potential to other Gulf countries.

Key outcomes & plans:

  • Mutual business missions will be organized to present Kaliningrad’s capabilities, from industrial amber extraction and processing to silicon wafer production.
  • A Bahraini delegation is expected to visit within a few months to discuss 5 key areas: food, agriculture, energy, tourism, and amber products for the Middle Eastern market.
  • For Bahraini citizens, amber is a sacred stone. The Ambassador praised its exceptional quality after visiting the Amber Combine.
  • We discussed Bahraini investment in the “White Dune” project – a major year-round seaside resort under Russia’s “Five Seas and Lake Baikal” federal initiative.
  • Following the Russian President’s recent announcement of plans to create a hub for Russian wheat exports with Bahrain, new opportunities are opening for Kaliningrad’s farmers to supply local grain.
