The authorities of the Kaliningrad Region intend to launch the “BRICS Mall Trading House” project in Kaliningrad this year, which will include a dedicated business zone. This project will become a hub for meetings between Kaliningrad businesses and foreign entrepreneurs, including those from China, said Alexander Kalkuta, head of the international and interregional relations agency for the Kaliningrad Region, speaking at the TASS Kaliningrad regional information center.
“This year, the launch of a project called the ‘BRICS Mall Trading House’ is planned in Kaliningrad. This will be a venue showcasing goods and various national products from different countries, as envisioned. It will include pavilions representing different nations. China has expressed great interest in this initiative, wishing to participate and present its country at our venue,” Kalkuta said.
According to him, launching such a project will help strengthen international business cooperation, including with Asian countries.
“A business zone will be created. This will become a hub specifically for negotiations and meetings between foreign businesses and Kaliningrad businesses. And what is most important for foreigners, including the Chinese, is to have such hubs. Once you have a foundation — a pavilion representing your country — it’s always a pleasure to bring, for example, some new robot produced in China. They bring it, showcase it, and it becomes easier for them to develop various other directions from here and move on to launching joint projects,” Kalkuta explained.
